Our Long-Range Plans

Mountain River was formed after we discovered a program for kids and horses  in Oregon called Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch.  We attended their Information Clinic during Spring 2007 and strive to create a program with the same heart and purpose. 

We fell in love with their program, their staff, the sparkle in the kids eyes, the kindness of the horses and are  following in their footsteps here in the Pacific Northwest. We welcome new volunteers, community support,corporate support,  friends and family as we build a place for children and the rehabilitation of horses. 

Like them we are a faith-based, non-profit 501(c)(3);  our tax ID number is #26-1777281

Where We’re Located

Our home is at a ranch called Faith Equestrian in Snohomish, Washington. Karen and Mark Plumlee generously offered their ranch for the kids and support us with every step we take. Faith Equestrian  is just off of Highway 2,  past Snohomish and is also home to Mission Equine Farrier School.

How You Can Help or Volunteer

Volunteers help in the following ways.

• Greeter-greet guests, give tours, spend time with families
• Work on ranch projects-gardening, construction, painting
• Prayer team
• Office assistant-organizing, thank you’s, newsletters
• Session leader-one on one with a child and horse
• Equine care-grooming, cleaning, riding
• Plastic fork team
• Side Walker-assist Session Leader
• Media Specialist
